Artist Julio Valdez has been invited to create five new prints in 2011 at the world-renowned Polígrafa Obra Gráfica, a print-making atelier in Barcelona. Valdez will produce the work in editions limited to 50 prints of each image, and Polígrafa will exhibit them at its booth at Art Basel in Basel and Miami, ARCO in Madrid and other major art fairs. Other artists who have worked at Polígrafa have included José Bedia, Christo, Eric Fischl, Ed Ruscha & Donald Sultan.

A painting by artist Julio Valdez, Cayo Levantado III, has been selected for an exhibition of some 300 art works by emerging artists from Latin America and the Caribbean area that has been organized by the World Bank Art Program.  The exhibition is being shown on a rotating basis among the World Bank offices in Washington, D.C., and Paris, as well as at the Cultural Center of the Inter-American Development Bank and at the Art Museum of the Americas of the Organization of American States, both also in Washington.  The exhibition, already under way, continues until May 2011.

A new editioned Solarplate print, Oceanic Eyes, is currently in exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk, CT. The print received an award at the annual members exhibition and can be seeing here: http://www.contemprints.org/exhibitions
