ABOUT THE STUDIO

Julio Valdez established a fine art printmaking studio specializing in contemporary and safe non-toxic printing techniques in New York City in 1994. Inspired by the teachings of his mentor, the master printer and artist Robert Blackburn, the studio serves as a place for creative collaboration and experimentation, where artists of all levels of expertise can nurture, learn and share their creative vision. In addition to offering workshops, lectures and classes nationally
and internationally, Julio Valdez Studio has also organized and collaborated in presenting influential traveling printmaking exhibitions, such as Silk Aquatint: Painterly Graphics and The Solarplate Revolution, among others.
