SOLARPLATE
Solarplate
is a revolutionary and versatile method of printmaking where you can
create an etching or photo-etching plate using solar energy, developing
the image with water. Explore the unique sensitivity of solarplate,
a non-acid, non-toxic method that can produce extraordinary results.
This technique is a wonderful process for painters, mixed-media, and
photo-based artists to create fine art limited edition prints and installations.
Dan Welden invented this great method and wrote the comprehensive book
about it, published a few years ago by Watson-Guptill. Limited to 8
students.
